Bhive
Bhive is a polished, infinite real-time browser game built around the idea of emergent swarm intelligence. At its core, the game places the player in control of a living, growing hive—an ever-changing system made up of many small autonomous units that behave according to simple rules, yet produce complex and surprising outcomes when combined.
Rather than controlling a single character, the player influences the hive as a whole. Through intuitive inputs (touch, mouse, or keyboard), the player nudges, attracts, repels, or guides the swarm, shaping how it grows, moves, and adapts. Every interaction subtly alters the system, making the player feel like a caretaker, strategist, and catalyst all at once.
The game is designed for endless play. There are no levels to complete or final victories—only continuous evolution. Procedural generation ensures that patterns, challenges, and behaviors never repeat exactly the same way. Over time, the hive becomes more complex, faster, and harder to manage, introducing new dynamics that test the player’s ability to understand and influence the system rather than simply react to it.
Visually, Bhive embraces a minimalist, modern aesthetic. All visuals are generated programmatically using clean shapes, motion, and subtle animations that communicate life and intelligence without clutter. The absence of audio keeps the focus entirely on movement, rhythm, and visual feedback, creating a calm yet engaging experience that works equally well on desktop and mobile devices.
Technically, Bhive is delivered as a single self-contained HTML file, making it lightweight, portable, and ideal for platforms like itch.io. Despite its simplicity on the surface, the game offers depth through emergent behavior, organic difficulty scaling, and the quiet satisfaction of mastering a living system that never stops evolving.

I really REALLY want to like this game, but I can't figure out the controls. The game and description both boast emergent behavior and intuitive controls, but all I have managed to do is get the starting three or four bees to waffle around in the center, despite my mouse being OVER a flower. The bees don't seem to have any sort of logic, nor can I direct them anywhere. It's more frustrating than it is fun, and I genuinely hope that perhaps I'm misunderstanding something over this being the intentional gameplay loop.
Thx for reporting this bug, i will fix it right away
